Initially, fans were patiently waiting for the game’s release window. But now with the help of infamous data miners and modders, we have an exact release date for Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero. It was leaked via Bandai Namco’s own website.
A data mine from Bandai Namco’s website suggests an upcoming release date of October 1, 2024. According to X user and YouTuber @SrgioM3, and further shared by X user @DbsHype, the website lists an October 1st release date for the game. This indicates that Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, part of the Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi series, could be available in less than five months
Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is seemingly coming out just like the previous games in the series. It is known in the West as Budokai Tenkaichi and has traditionally been released in Japan in October. North American release dates have typically followed shortly after. Since this Dragon Ball game is adopting the “Sparking!” name worldwide for the first time, which was previously exclusive to Japan, the game will likely adhere to this release date tradition and be available globally in October.
Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, the latest entry in the Budokai Tenkaichi series, was officially announced in December of last year. Powered by Unreal Engine 5, the game will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC

Sparking Zero aims to outdo BT3’s large roster, providing 164 playable characters in this 3D fighting game, showcasing characters from throughout Dragon Ball’s extensive history.

Dragon Ball Sparking Zero New Elements
Moreover, while preserving the core mechanics of the series, Dragon Ball Sparking Zero introduces new elements to enhance the portrayal of high-speed and authentic battles. These include:
- Skill Count – This is a metric that increases as you execute moves during battles, which can then be utilized to activate special abilities.
- Short Dash – This technique allows for rapid movement, opening up various strategic options such as evading enemy attacks, executing charged attacks or Ki Blasts while in motion, or seamlessly transitioning into a dragon dash for powerful maneuvers.
- Revenge Counter – This technique enables players to retaliate while absorbing an opponent’s attack, facilitating swift offense and defense reminiscent of moments in the original story where characters could counterattack even while under assault.
- Super Perception – This command lets players anticipate and counter various attacks, including Ki Wave blasts.
