Silent Hill 2 Release Window Slated for 2024
During its most recent earnings call, Bloober Team anticipated Konami’s upcoming announcement regarding the release date of the Silent Hill 2 remake for PS5. The exact release date has not yet been revealed, but the release window is scheduled for this year, as the leaks suggest Sony could announce a date for the Silent Hill Remake at the PlayStation Showcase.
Moreover, there has been talk of a PlayStation Showcase slated for May 2024, with insiders firmly believing that the launch date of the Silent Hill 2 remake will be a standout feature of the event.
Sony hasn’t officially unveiled the PS5 Pro yet, so while the showcase is anticipated to spotlight hardware primarily, there’s a chance Sony may feature Silent Hill 2 considering its exclusive status.
The developer has been refining the game, which has already been reviewed and received a rating from the U.S. rating board ESRB.
Silent Hill 2 Remake Gaming Consoles
The official announcement for the Silent Hill 2 remake came from the Bloober Team’s official website. You can add the game to your wish list before it comes out.
There’s speculation that Silent Hill 2 could receive enhancements for the PS5 Pro. Sony has already encouraged game developers to release games that are PS5 Pro-enhanced. If the Silent Hill 2 remake has this label, it will be exclusively available on the PS5 Pro. The console-exclusive version’s release date is subject to the official launch of the PS5 Pro.
It also has a PC Steam and PS5 version, but the game’s Xbox version has not yet been confirmed.

The Silent Hill 2 remake trailer was released on 19th October 2022.
Bloober Team’s studio head, Piotr Babieno, recently addressed the trailer for the game in a video interview with Inwestorzy. Although the video appears to have been made private, Eurogamer Poland reported on it and provided a translation of his comments.
According to Eurogamer UK, Babieno mentioned that Konami manages trailers like the one showcased in the State of Play event. He emphasized that the trailer didn’t fully capture the essence of the original game or the vision they aimed to achieve with the remake.
Babieno expressed that the Bloober Team is striving to authentically recreate the romanticized experience of the game that debuted 22 years ago. He suggested that players will form a different opinion about the remake once they see more gameplay.
The storyline for the Silent Hill 2 remake shall remain faithful to the classic horror game:
Upon receiving a letter from his late wife, James embarks on a journey to where they once cherished countless memories, longing for one final glimpse of her: Silent Hill. Amidst the haunting atmosphere by the lake, he encounters a woman strikingly resembling his beloved.
“I’m Maria,” she utters with a smile, her face and voice uncannily mirroring his wife’s.
