Marvel Thunderbolts will arrive in theaters on May 5, 2025. The Thunderbolts film has been through a whirlwind of schedule changes. Initially, it was slated for a July 26, 2024 release, but it shifted to December 20, 2024. Then, it faced more delays as July 25, 2025, was selected, but now it has been pushed back to the May 2025 premiere.

Reason Behind the Delays in the Premiere Date

The release date for Thunderbolts was changed primarily due to the impact of the writers’ strike in Hollywood. WGA strike disrupted the film’s production timeline, causing significant setbacks. These strike affected various aspects of filmmaking, including casting and script development, leading to complications in the production process. The studio had to reevaluate its schedule, postponing the release date to overcome the challenges posed by the strike.

Eric Pearson, known for Thor: Ragnarok and Black Widow, will write the script, with Jake Schreier from Paper Towns directing.
