Ditto is the only Pokémon in Pokémon Go with the ability to change its form. It does not appear in its true form in the wild. Instead, it molds into different Pokémon and confuses players. It will only reveal its true identity after it is caught.

If you see any of the Pokémon mentioned above in the wild, there is a slight chance that it is a disguise! However, the chances of these Pokémon being Ditto are very small. Catching a Shiny Ditto in Pokémon Go 

Shiny Ditto’s are very rare in Pokémon Go. It made its debut in the game during the Tour: Kanto event. Players who bought the ticket for the event’s Kanto special research quest could win it as a reward. However, since September 1st, 2021, shiny Ditto can be found in the wild by all players! 

If any of the Pokémon which can be a disguise for Ditto are shiny, they won’t transform into Ditto! For example, if you see a shiny Drowzee, it will never turn out to be Ditto! Thus, Ditto only disguises itself as non-shiny Pokémon. 

Instead, non-shiny Pokémon can turn into shiny Dittos! Hence, if you find a regular Drowzee, it can transform into a regular Ditto or a shiny one! 

To sum it up, the only way to catch a shiny Ditto is to catch regular versions of it until you succeed! 

How to evolve Ditto? 

Ditto can not be evolved in the game! It can only be upgraded through Candy. Thus, there is only a normal type Ditto Pokémon in the Pokedex. His exact description reads, 

“Ditto rearranges its cell structure to transform itself into other shapes. However, if it tries to transform itself into something by relying on its memory, this Pokémon manages to get details wrong.”
