Jeremy Renner is very strong and is a real-life avenger, and no one can deny that as he is back on screen after being hurt in a snowplough crash. The team actor says that he had traumatic chest and bone injuries from being hit by a 14,330 lbs snowcat on January 1, 2023. One of his co-stars from Mayor of Kingstown says Jeremy Renner’s injuries were worse than we knew.
Michael Beach, who acts as Captain Kareem on the show, shared that Renner’s accident was worse than anybody knew; he broke 38 bones, and his heart stopped beating for a bit after the snowcat crash.
In an interview with The Direct’s Russ Milheim, Beach praised Renner by saying:
“Jeremy Renner is a war horse, man. I mean that guy, you know, he broke 38 bones. He actually died, which I didn’t know until he told me, and he’s been coming back. And he says he wasn’t sure how it would be. But he was ready. And he says every week, he feels stronger and stronger. And there’s been no interruption because of his physical abilities or not. He’s in it doing it. He’s great. Yeah, he’s a great guy, man. And he’s really as tough as nails.”
Michael Beach also said that Renner’s nephew, Alex Fries, whom he rescued during the accident, works in Kingstown, too.
He said, “And you know, his nephew, who he saved, works on the show. So you get a couple of perspectives, and they are not shy about telling you what was going on, how they felt, and all that stuff. So it’s a unique perspective to the story of how Jeremy Renner got run over by a Snowplow.”
Also, Beach talked more about the Mission Impossible actor’s amazing and quick recovery, saying he is improving and feeling stronger each week. He revealed that Season 3 of Mayor of Kingstown will be on Paramount+ shortly as the show is in its last stages of production and only requires a month to complete the filming.
He revealed, “We have about a month left shooting… It’s great. Because I mean, that’s the kind of thing that I love, the writing, the harshness of the world that we exist in on ‘Mayor of Kingstown.’ And so that, I just love it. And I’m always writing emails to the writers and stuff about, well, what about blah, blah, blah, you know, and I’m sure I’m a pain in the ass to them. But I really want to try to make sure I’m making sense and not redoing something I already did.”
After Mayor of Kingstown Season 3, Renner will only be left with a few projects. But he might return as Clint Barton in the MCU later, with two more Avengers projects in the works.
In February, Renner also said he’d want to return to the MCU. He said he’s “always ready” and is “going to give his best.” He ended by saying, “If they want me, I am available.”
