Modern Warfare 2 2022: Release Date

According to the official statement by Infinity Ward, the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 2022 is set to release on October 28, 2022. The released statement also confirms that the development of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is to happen alongside Warzone 2. The fans will likely see the two games, along with all the future titles of Call of Duty, appear over a unified engine.

It would appear that the rumors heard back in January seem to stand corrected as Activision seems to be taking advantage of a leaner autumn release window to release Call of duty Modern Warfare 2 2022 earlier than our anticipation. Modern Warfare 2 is rumored to be set in modern-day Latin America, unlike Vanguard, which was set in World War 2. We hope that the modern-day Latin America setting will re-energize the franchise as it enters its 19th year.

The game is also set to appear on Steam. In fact, pre-orders of the game are already live on the platform. This is the first time a Call of duty game is set to appear on Steam after 2017, when Call of Duty: WW2 was available on the Valve platform. So far, Call of Duty games has been exclusive to platforms. Still, now Activision Blizzard is much more considerate of Steam users.

What is the Storyline?

Modern Warfare 2 is the direct sequel to Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2019. The sequel took palace three years after the end of that previous game. The prequel ended with a discussion between Captain Price and CIA handler Kate Laswell to discuss the present threat revolving around Victor Zakhaev, a developing situation with General Shepherd, and the formation of Task Force 141.

In accordance with what is known of the game, the Modern Warfare story technically continued into Warzone, which re-introduced us to Ghost. In a summarized detail, the game even brings some key characters back from the dead.

According to what we know, Modern Warfare 2 picks up with Task Force 141, well-established as the go-to team for the trickiest missions. They will continue to plunge their lives into a dangerous mission to save humanity. Still, it seems that the latest iteration of Modern Warfare is likely less provocative. Nevertheless, the game is packed with globetrotting adventures, wild missions, and many exciting events.
