Fallout Season 2 isn’t confirmed yet, but signs suggest it could drop soon. Read the article to learn why we believe it’s on the horizon and more!
Is Fallout Season 2 Coming?
The likelihood of Fallout Season 2 is growing. Firstly, the positive reviews for the first season suggest the crew will return to make the second season for the fans. Other than that, there are reports of Amazon receiving $25 million in tax credits to film in California instead of New York, where Season 1 was shot. Rumors suggest filming may begin in Toronto in September, but this still needs confirmation.
Creators Tease Season 2
The Fallout crew seems eager for more. Executive producer Graham Wagner told Collider they had already begun work on the next season while putting together the first one.
“We wrapped Season 1 and we started working on Season 2 in the hopes of there being interest in that from Amazon, and in the hopes of shrinking that gap. Because leaving people on a cliffhanger for two years is a bizarre impulse.”
Moreover, showrunner Graham Wagner, among others involved in the Fallout TV show, has expressed optimism for multiple seasons. In a recent interview with Total Film (via ComicBook.com), Wagner stated:
“It’s an uncertain time in television. So the art form of season finales has become: provide enough closure, but leave the door open for more. But we feel we’ve barely scratched the surface of the Fallout universe. We literally have documents and documents of stuff that we’re, in success, eager to dig into. Our fingers are crossed that we’re going to get the opportunity to do all that stuff.”
When Will Fallout Season 2 Be Released?
Although the creators are optimistic, the shooting for Fallout Season 2 has not been confirmed yet. Based on some rough calculations and the unconfirmed rumor of filming starting in September, expect it to arrive in late 2025 or 2026.
Which Cast Members Will Return?
If the next season gets the green light, fans can anticipate the return of original cast members. This would include the following:
- Ella Purnell as Lucy MacLean
- Aaron Clifton Moten as Maximus
- Walton Goggins as The Ghoul/Cooper Howard
- Moises Arias as Norm MacLean
- Kyle MacLachlan as Hank MacLean
- Leslie Uggams as Betty Pearson
- Chris Parnell as Ben
- Zach Cherry as Woody Thomas
What Will Season 2 Be About?
Now that we know who might return for the second season, let’s decode the plot. Before we do that, here’s what we know after watching Season 1.
Recap of Season 1
The story is set after the Great War that occurred in 2077, which made the world go boom with nuclear bombs. People live in a world that looks like the past and the future, like a sci-fi movie. Some lucky ones live in safe places called Vaults, but these are not as safe as people thought. Each Vault was actually performing psychological reforms on the people inside, dwelling inside.
After 219 years, a girl named Lucy decides to leave her home in Vault 33 to find her dad in the ruins of Los Angeles. She met a Brotherhood of Steel squire and a ghoul bounty hunter on her journey. However, they all had their own mysteries from the past and agendas to fix.
The plot of season 2 sets the stage for the second season, with Lucy and Cooper bonding over family and Maximus returning in favor of The Brotherhood of Steel. Meanwhile, Norm is stuck in Vault 31, trying to break free after a shocking discovery. As Hank heads to post-apocalyptic Sin City—New Vegas—what awaits him? Will Lucy and Cooper find their family? With Maximus back in The Brotherhood of Steel, what’s next? And what mysteries will unfold as the story progresses?
