We are united in our grief and committed to honouring his memory in a manner befitting the remarkable person he was. Plans to pay tribute to Josh will be made in consultation with his family and will remain private at this time. The Club, along with Josh’s family, requests the respect of privacy as we mourn this immense loss. No further comments will not be provided during this sensitive period.”

On Friday, Worcestershire started a book of condolence in the Severn Suite at their New Road headquarters. Heartfelt tributes flooded in from friends and the global cricket community, portraying Josh as an ‘inspiring’ and ‘genuine’ young sportsman.
Josh cultivated his talents at Kenilworth Wardens Sports Club and further showcased his prowess at Malvern College, where he also excelled in hockey. None of the tributes disclosed Josh Baker cause of death.
Kim Tutcher, Josh’s former assistant to the housemaster, shared a touching tribute. He reminisced about the days when Josh used to come to the games with the support of his parents, his mother carrying his ironed shirts and his father carrying his kits when he was just a schoolboy.
