Prepare for another thrilling journey into Greek mythology as Blood of Zeus returns for its highly anticipated second season. Following the success of the first season, which premiered in October 2020, fans can look forward to more epic battles, divine powers, and captivating adventures. Production on the next season of the epic animated series inspired by Greek mythology has wrapped up.
Blood of Zeus S2 was confirmed for 2024 during last fall’s Geeked Week event. Texas-based Powerhouse Animation (Castlevania, Seis Manos) is again producing the series. The adult action-adventure series, conceived by Charley and Vlas Parlapanides, revolves around Heron, an ordinary Greek citizen. Heron learns he is the son of Zeus, the ruler of the Olympian gods, and that he is meant to protect the planet from an army of demons.
Blood of Zeus Season 2 Release Date Where to Watch
Blood of Zeus Season 2 is slated for global release on Netflix starting May 10, 2024. The first season’s eight episodes are currently available on Netflix for streaming. You can enjoy the glimpses of the second season’s trailer below.
Production and Cast
Powerhouse Animation Studio, the creative force behind the first season, returns to helm the second instalment. Executive producers Brad Graeber, Michael Hughes, Vlas Parlapanides, and Charley Parlapanides lead the charge, ensuring another visually stunning and narratively compelling season. The leading voice cast includes Derek Phillips as Heron, Claudia Christian as Hera, and Elias Toufexis as Seraphim. Fred Tatasciore plays a prominent role as Hades, the primary antagonist in the new season. Along with Heron (voiced by Derek Phillips) with his mother, Electra (Mamie Gummer) has significant roles.
The Long-Awaited Return
Season 1 (streaming on Netflix) features the voices of Derek Phillips as Heron, Jason O’Mara as Zeus, Claudia Christian as Hera, and Elias Toufexis as Seraphim. Additional roles include Mamie Gummer, Chris Diamantopoulos, Jessica Henwick, Melina Kanakaredes, Matthew Mercer, Adetokumboh M’Cormack, Fred Tatasciore, and more. The Parlapinades are executive producers alongside Powerhouse Founder and CEO/CCO Brad Graeber.
Fans have endured a considerable wait since the first season’s debut, with nearly three years and six months passing before Season 2. The delay partly stemmed from Powerhouse Animation’s commitment to another Netflix series, Castlevania: Nocturne.
However, with that project completed, Blood of Zeus enthusiasts can finally rejoice as the next chapter unfolds. Netflix gave fans a glimpse of what’s to come during Geeked Week 2023, offering tantalizing glimpses of Heron’s struggles and the evolving dynamics among the gods.
Future Prospects
With Season 2 set to captivate audiences, the creators have ambitious plans for the series. They envision five seasons to explore the rich tapestry of Greek mythology further. From epic battles to divine rivalries, Blood of Zeus promises to immerse viewers in a world where gods, demigods, and giants collide in a saga of cosmic proportions.
